The poems are intended for the reader to be able to relate to what others go thru when they are grieving. It is also intended for anyone who is suffering from grief of any kind to know that they are not alone, there is support available through family, friends, church, books or others to help you through the most difficult days. Many people feel awkward bringing up the topic of a death or they just don't know what to say other than "How are your doing". A book or some other gesture can be a nice way to say you care without having a conversation sometimes. The person going through the grief can lean on others but they need to go through the grief on their own in their own personal way. As the author, I found reading books, poems or listening to others advice on how they got through it to be really beneficial to know I was not going crazy especially on my worst days. Grief is not a topic that a lot of people like or want to talk about. I truly hope that the time that I took to write these poems, document them and make myself vulnerable to the world, does some good for someone somewhere.
